Happy Holidays from the Jackson Center

Last Thursday, Northside neighbors and friends of the Jackson Center crowded into our house on Rosemary St. for an evening full of music, laughter, and community at our annual holiday party. So many people came to the party, we almost didn’t have enough room to fit everyone! We saw friends, neighbors, student service partners, and community leaders all gathered together to celebrate the season.

Many people brought delicious dishes, including some mouth-watering mac and cheese made by Gabby, one of our Americorps VISTAs. We also had a ton of fantastic desserts, and Brentton’s hot cider was definitely the best drink of the night. It wasn’t just the food and drinks that fostered the holiday spirit. There was lots of singing, dancing, and fellowship happening throughout the Center:

The holiday party reminded me just how special the Northside community is for everyone who lives, worships, works, or serves there. The diversity of those who came to celebrate showed the true diverse nature of our community: there were elders and toddlers, college students and long-time residents, people from all different backgrounds and walks of life gathered together to celebrate and share with each other.

From the Jackson Center, we hope you all have a wonderful holiday season filled with friends, family, great food and wonderful fellowship!
