This is an excerpt from an oral history interview with Elaine Norwood. I met her at the Banquet at Hargraves Community Center during the Civil Rights Weekend. She really enjoyed the spoken word pieces performed by some Sacrificial Poets and kept repeating how nice it was to see young folks at the event. I listened to this interview and thought that the way her family’s story intertwined with the university was really interesting.
