Stay Tuned for Family Pictures USA on WUNC-TV

Our Executive Director, Della Pollock, was part of the launch of Family Pictures USA at WUNC-TV in October. Led by the renowned documentary filmmaker, Thomas Allen Harris, Family Pictures USA is a new television program that features people from across North Carolina sharing stories about their family photos, their families, and the way print photos and the stories we tell about them can connect strangers in a spirit of family reunion.

Habitat for Humanity of Orange County holds 20th Annual House Party

On Sunday, October 7th, Habitat for Humanity hosted it's 20th Annual House Party at the home of Shannon Kennedy and Alan Stephenson in Chapel Hill. Thanks to them underwriting the event, all of the $112,000+ in proceeds from this event will go towards our mission!

Among the speakers was the Jackson Center's Yvonne Cleveland, a proud Habitat home owner.

Rediscovered: Susie Weaver sang of "Freedom in Chapel Hill"

This 2017 interview on WUNC is a real treasure. WUNC reporter Leoneda Inge talks to sisters Wanda Weaver and Kathy Atwater about Northside legend Susie Weaver whose song, "Freedom in Chapel Hill" was a local hit and a tribute to those who were part of the local civil rights struggle.
