Dustin Rawlings is a consultant for Rawlings Contracting, an organization that is dedicated to working collectively with partner agencies toward sustainable, affordable housing solutions. Dustin has extensive experience as a general contractor and leverages it to create innovate construction solutions for the housing challenges being faced in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro communities. He is committed to achieving an equitable society where everyone has a home they can afford. Dustin is working toward ordination as a Deacon in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. As a “bridge” between the United Methodist Church and society, his role will be to lead the church in relating Christians to their ministries in the world through worship leadership, preaching, teaching, nurturing spiritual vitality and leading ministries of service, love, compassion and justice.

Dustin is a N.C. Licensed General Contractor and earned his B.S. in Construction Management from East Carolina University. He worked in commercial construction for 12 years before returning to earn his Master of Divinity from Duke University, and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Currently he is working as a consultant with the Marian Cheek Jackson Center and Self Help Credit Union for the Northside Land Bank Initiative (i.e., $3 million grant provided by UNC-Chapel Hill toward developing affordable housing in the Northside neighborhood), and is the lead coordinator for the Promise of Home repair program that serves seniors in Northside.
